Family

I'm pretty sure the men in this picture are my great grandfather and my great, great grandfather on my father's mother's side. Is that convoluted enough for you? I don't think I'm related to the horse... at least not the front end.

Power is back on at ma's house... It's nice to live on a major hwy where the power lines run not only houses, but carry power to the next community. Speeds things up quite a bit. So, overnight with no power not so bad. It's pretty out there. Tree limbs everywhere. Once my iPhone recharges, I may ride around and take a few pictures to post.
Back to the Sunday Ink...

Sunday Ink #50

This is an oldie that I never posted before for some reason... It's from Shakespear's Pub on 6th street in Austin maybe a year and a half ago... Oh, well. Better late than never I suppose.

Hurricane Blogging

I left my reasonably safe home north of Charlotte to come stay with Ma in northeastern NC. She didn't want to leave her home at 87, so I figured having an able bodied man and a 4x4 handy would be a good deal.
Her house is surrounded by 100 foot tall pine trees, and she lost a lot of the old oaks to Isabell a few years back.
The wind is up, and gusting fairly high, but no worries. I think we'll see worse in a few hours, then it will be over and I'll go home.
Right now, there's still power and we have water and food 'just in case". good luck to everyone else in the path.

The Good Old Days...

...Yeah, I suppose,
I'm glad they're behind us now,
The only thing worse than growing up
Is never quite learning how.
-Absent Minded Melody
How did that become this?
Happy Birthday to me!

Sunday Ink #49

This young redhead was at a Civil War Reenactment of all things... Much ink and much sunburn, poor thing... Still, I couldn't help asking for a picture of her tats of Jack Skellington and Sally.
I hope she spent the rest of the weekend sitting in the shade, But I thank her for letting me post this.

A Nice Soldier

On back of Photo:
Mr. McNeil, a nice soldier, whom we met on our way over Long Island Sound to Hoboken, New Jersey, to the place where we saw the battleship. The wind was blowing a gale and it was cold as winter time almost.

Tap, Tap, Tap... Is This Thing On...

Been gone for a while. I offer no apologies. Just the way it is sometimes. I'm working on a larger writing project, I have a house I'm rebuilding, and a life that I'm trying to live better.
Since I really don't write much anymore, Ive decided that I'm going to post a bunch of the old photos that I found in my scavaging of relatives old abandoned belongings.
Some of these people I know who they are and I'm related to them.
Some of these people I know who they are and I'm not related to them.
Some of these people I don't know who they are and I'm related to them.
Some of these people I don't know who they are and I'm not related to them.
Most pictures will be posted without comment. Feel free to supply comment and or caption suggestions. If there is a name for the subject, I'll post it (sans last name... I don't know who may still be alive or have living relatives aside from me... Can of worms I don't wish to open.) If there is a description, I'll post it.
All Pictures are my property alone and should not be reposted or printed without my permission. Ask, and my permission will most likely be granted... I just prefer that you ask first.
Scattrered in with the old pics will be some new material from me on occasion... Including a few new Sunday Ink photos I found floating around in my files.
I hope you enjoy. If you have any questions, shoot me an e-mail, the link is just to the right.
Cheers,
-K
