Dead Dog Walkin'
"The disposition of noble dogs is to be gentle with people they know and the opposite with those they don't know... How, then, can the dog be anything other than a lover of learning since it defines what's its own and what's alien." - Plato

OMG. This is so sad... Who are they mourning?
No idea... I think this is my cousin John's house built in 1850... But can't swear to it.
Do you see any early deaths in your family around that time? I hope it is just a man taking the picture... maybe a grandparent passed. Someone took this so it would be remembered...
See... That's a tough one. I don't know the year, though I'd bet on the 20's, but I come from a long line of Scots-Irish farmers.
Ma was one of 6 (5 girls 1 boy), Pop was next to the youngest of 10... His dad was one of thirteen and his mom was one of 6 I think... and her dad was the young man in the photo with the "gibson girl"
Best I can even narrow down is that its on my father's mother's side of the family... If it's not my father's cousin's wife's family.
In my heart I feel this is a very sad photograph. The faces say it all.
Remember sadness is always temporary. This, too, shall pass.
