"The disposition of noble dogs is to be gentle with people they know and the opposite with those they don't know... How, then, can the dog be anything other than a lover of learning since it defines what's its own and what's alien." - Plato

Tuesday Tune Session
Pearl Harbor Day. With all my running around this week, I almost forgot. Here's to my Pop and all the others who went through that Hell Sunday morning so long ago.
Sorry for the sparse posting, but the Red Queen was home from working in NYC so she takes priority over most everything else. She came home just in time for the worst cold snap yet... and no heat in the old home except plug ins and propane... Tough duty for my best girl, especially since it was a whopping 16 degrees this morning. But, she's back up north where heat is the flick of a switch, and I'm OK with fire from a tank... For now.
Well, I'm cold and tired, let's see what's in the music files.
1. Sloop John B - The Beach Boys
2. Tin Pan Alley - Stevie Ray Vaughn and Double Trouble
3. Moonlight Mile - The Rolling Stones
4. Si Puo? (La Boheme: Act 1) - Luciano Pavarotti, Mirella Freni, Etc.; Herbert Von Karajan: Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, Deutsche Oper Chorus
5. That Man Will Not Hang - Mclusky
6. Lover's Prayer - Van Morrison
7. The Captain - Kasey Chambers
8. Mass IV Sanctus, Sanctus - Huelgas Ensemble with Paul Van Nevel
A divorced northeastern North Carolina farmboy back in Carolina via Washington DC, a small Carribean island and Texas. Mostly self-educated I am the product of public schools, a few trips to college, the school of life (& hard knocks), a WWII veteran father who could build anything, and a Sunday School teacher mother who loved to read anything she could lay her hands on. As the youngest of five I am no stranger to having to defend my actions (not to mention myself).
"Mom and Dad say I should make my life an example of the principles I believe in. But every time I do, they tell me to stop it."
-Bill Watterson (Calvin & Hobbes)
If you look deeply into the palm of your hand, you will see your parents and all generations of your ancestors. All of them are alive in this moment. Each is present in your body. You are the continuation of each of these people.
