Not The Policeman's Ball

The Headline read "Sex raid nets five arrests". It was a sting operation in Columbia, South Carolina. My brother saw it in the newspaper "The State" and mentioned it to a friend. She read it and told him to go back a pay attention to the article itself.
It’s the second raid in a little more than a month.
“Operation Hoe-Down” resulted in the shutdown of Atlantis II at 540 St. Andrews Road and LMR (Le Masser Rendezvous) at 2301 Bush River Road, Suite F.
The Richland County Sheriff’s Department assisted in the raid.

Only in South Carolina could they get away with that. I can't do anymore to this than was already done, so I'm just gonna let it stand.

Hat tip to my oldest brother for alerting me. Too funny.

Mixed Nuts

In April there's to be a blog-meet here in the A-town. So a bunch of other self-agrandizing nut jobs like me are going to descend upon Austin for degeneracy and debauchery... Or so I've heard, this is my first one. I'm actually kind of excited, there are a couple of these fruitcakes that I want to meet. Acidman, for example (linked to the right), has anounced that he is making the trip. He's actually one of the influences that started me blogging. Some of his stories about growing up in the south really struck a cord with me. There is a list of those coming on the Blown-Eyed Blodgers site (also linked at the right as is Walrilla another Cen-Tex blogger) Check 'em out. I've been reading through them little by little.
This should be a blast!

Show Yourself

I promise not to harp on it this time, but I revived the Frapper map and linked it on the sidebar. If you are interested, check out where some of my readers are, and if you feel so inclined, map yourself and post a comment and/or a picture.

A Cin And A Shame

A few people have asked me why, being the relative conservative that I am, have I not posted anything on Cindy Sheehan and her ilk... Especially since I live practically within spitting distance of Crawford and the protests mounted there.
Easy answer: She's not worth my time. Notwithstanding the main stream media's coverage, I don't think she's worth anyone's time.
At best she is nothing but a grieving mother (and there seems to be some doubt about that in some circles). Sad, yes. Noteworthy, no.
This world is full of grieving mothers. Most of them then cling to their remaining families and try to heal. It is incredibly bad form to alienate the rest of your grieving family and make it your life's mission to try and place yourself in front of a camera to denounce the work and choices of the child you supposedly mourn.
At worst she is a traitor. I won't make that call, but it is arguable. I think anyone who denegrates and denounces the United States in the presence of a foriegn leader, especially one who is blatently anti-American comes dangerously close to commiting treason.
Personally I think her fifteen minutes of fame are rapidly coming to a close.
